About Capable Kids
The objective of this program is to equip parents with some helpful insight and tools
that will assist them in raising kids that are healthy, caring and responsible. While
raising kids can be tough, learning about it doesn’t have to be. This program seeks
to provide a caring, fun and safe environment where parents can learn and explore
what ingredients are needed to help their child succeed.
Raising Highly Capable Kids is a 13-week curriculum that is based on the Search
Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets. The Search Institute has undertaken decades
of research with more than 4 million children and found that there are 40 building
blocks every child needs to grow and mature. The more of these assets a child has
in his or her life, the more likely they will be to engage in healthy behaviors while
veering away from those that are unhealthy.
Developed by Rezilient Kidz™ in partnership with The Search Institute and
endorsed by Focus on the Family, this program has been successfully
implemented in many communities across the country.

As a faith-based organization, we strive to be a light to those in our
community. We acknowledge that parents desire the best for their children
and are fighting an uphill battle against the influence of violence, drugs,
sexual pressures, and depression. Using this program our goal is to serve
by coming alongside parents to provide support and tools needed to
effectively nourish their children into highly capable individuals.
Research indicates the 40 Developmental Assets and the Raising Highly
Capable Kids Program is such a tool. It accomplishes our goal to be an
outreach to families in our area.
