Know that God loves you.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
Everybody is a sinner. Admit that YOU are a sinner.
“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.'”
Romans 3:10-11
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
Understand that sin will keep you away from God.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
God forgives sin. When you admit you have sinned and truly ask God to forgive you, He will forgive you.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
Jesus did so that all people can be saved.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
“We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all”

You become a Christian when you accept Jesus as your personal Savior. When you make him the “boss” of your life.
“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.'”
Romans 3:10-11
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
